About Me

Hey there! I'm, Anna...

and I’m the one behind this blog. Born in Taiwan to a Scottish dad and Taiwanese mom, I’ve been lucky enough to call quite a few places home. At age 4, my family moved to Doha, Qatar, where I grew up soaking in different cultures—thanks to my parents who always made sure I saw the world from every angle.

At 13, I packed my bags  to chase my dream in Barcelona, Spain and pursue life as a professional tennis player. Sounds glamorous, right? Well, it’s been a wild mix of adrenaline-filled matches, painful losses, grueling training sessions, and learning how to live on my own without my parents. Throw in a couple of injuries, including a major surgery last year, and you’ve got the full picture.

After a pandemic detour back to Taiwan, I made my way to Portugal in 2021 to keep pushing toward my tennis goals. Through it all, I’ve learned a ton about resilience, mental health, and how to keep going when life throws curveballs.

It's in the spaces between the lines where we discover who we are and what truly matters.

I'm here to tell my story...

in the hopes that you find something relatable or maybe even inspiring. This blog is all about the real-life stuff: mental health, loneliness abroad, and the everyday challenges we all face—drawn from my experiences as a professional athlete, but relevant to anyone navigating life’s ups and downs—no sugarcoating, I promise!

From managing the pressures of competition to balancing relationships and personal growth, I’ve learned that the lessons from tennis can apply to all areas of life. I’ll also share my adventures in traveling and exploring different cultures, highlighting how these experiences have shaped my perspective. Plus, I’ll sprinkle in a few tips on finding joy in the journey, whether you’re hitting the road for an adventure or just trying to make it through a busy week!

So, whether you’re looking for a glimpse into the ups and downs of sports, some travel inspiration, or just a good story to relate to, I’m glad you’re here.

Real growth often happens outside our comfort zones.
